What Campers are Saying

I have been going to Unschoolers Rock the Campground for, well,  I don't really know, but a long time. And I only have great memories of it. It is a place where anyone can let their inner person out and not worry about being judged by anyone. Everyone is friendly and will help you with anything. Going is like going to a family gathering, even if you have never met the people before. I love going and can't wait to go again!! -Will

Unschoolers Rock the Campground has become a highlight of our Summer!  We love the opportunity to connect and reconnect with like-minded families in a relaxed environment.  :) -Sylvia Woodman

If I had to choose one unschooling event to attend each year, it would be URTC hands down. Happy families, kids rolling in the dirt (they all do that right, not just mine?), a short walk to the lake every day, a movie under the stars, and food cooked over the campfire (also, there is a rumor about cotton candy). We have made many wonderful and hopefully lifelong connections at this event, so much so that we hope to come back next year even though we are moving several states away.

"The weekend brought with it the chance to connect with members of our tribe. With people that we don't get to see nearly as much as we'd like to. And it also brought with it a chance to meet people that we have only met via blogs (and Facebook). And of course, there were some that we had never met too. It was such an amazing weekend. Watching 40 families live in harmony together and the bonds that we strengthened and established was just incredible. There was a sense of peace. Of joy. Of love. Of acceptance. Of understanding. And all the while, "Free To Be You and Me" played in the back of my mind.

I just couldn't help but wish that this time would never end. I couldn't help but wish that all children had the chance to live this way, to experience this amazing life. I couldn't help but notice how this group of 40 families contained some of the most amazing Papas I have ever seen/met. The amount of love that they openly showered on their families was beyond words. Watching as Fathers kissed their kids and told them how much they loved them was something that just struck such a chord with me, In a day and age where it seems that Dads are all too often shown as less than involved it was so refreshing to see so many hands-on Dads in one spot. I loved watching as little kids and big kids played together in harmony (Zombie Nerf Wars, anyone?) and I watched as my girls ran and played with their friends with such freedom, joy and happiness that my heart just about burst."

My kids came away fulfilled and happy.
So did I .
It was really refreshing and peaceful to be surrounded by such kind people.
It was an amazing weekend.
We can't wait for next year.

Unschooler's Rock the Campground is a wonderful unschooling family event. The tall green pines of Plymouth, MA with a gorgeous lake is the perfect setting for both relaxation and fun. For a brief moment, you are surrounded by unschooling neighbors ready to share in the joy and freedom of unschooling. In the morning share coffee and breakfast with neighbors or go for a walk in the beautiful woods or take an early morning swim at the lake. During the day, kids run free, often congregating in the center pavillions for a game of nerf guns or zombie tag. Lounge on the beach, while the kids play in the sand or swim in the lake. Rent a canoe or do some fishing. It's all available at the Unschoolers Rock the Campground. Nearby day trips also add to the fun. Visit the ocean and go for a swim. Tour a replica of the Mayflower and see Plymouth Rock. The Unschooler's Rock the Campground is a magical time where you can meet new unschoolers or visit with longtime friends and have a wonderful relaxed time!
